The Practicalities Of It All
The Design Stages:
I offer an initial no obligation home or site visit to understand the project & talk about the services required – this is followed up with a brief written proposal which will outline in stages the next steps involved to undertake the project.
If engaged I can then detail timelines, budgets & my service agreement
Concept development where we discuss at length your requirements & I came back to you with suggested themes.
Inspiration & ideas in mood board format.
Design layouts & space planning where I measure then explore & suggest layout options.
Elevations & 3D visuals – drawings to help you visualize how your space will look.
Sourcing – finding any products for you from paint & wallpaper, to curtain fabrics, decorative artwork, fixtures & fixtures, appliances & furniture including bespoke joinery.
Lighting plans – suggesting ways to enhance lighting in the space & appropriate fittings.
Suggested Window treatments, fabrics, making up, fitting tracks & hanging.
Project Co-ordination:
Liaising with 3rd parties to help co-ordinate any building works.
Producing furniture & fixture & fitting specifications.
Producing & monitoring schedules of works to be completed.
Ordering, receiving & checking chosen fixtures & fittings.
Detailing decorative specifications & keeping records for future reference.
Checking snagging, following up & handing over final project documents.
As the scope of works is different for each project there is no set fee structure that can be set in stone therefore charges for my services can be hourly, as a day rate, fixed fee or as a project percentage. I am totally flexible on how we work out the best fee proposal for your project and this would be discussed early on at the beginning and detailed in the written proposal.
